Gucci pop-up and looking at patterns for design inspiration in London

At the weekend I happened to be in London so decided to visit the Gucci pop-up shop in Selfridges which is showing new creative director Allessandro Michele's new s/s 16 runway collection. While there I was particularly interested in looking at the prints, designs and patterns featured as I felt that these could influence some of my designs for my silicone pieces. Some pieces I particularly like were this lace camisole with a snake and strawberries embroidered onto the front,
as well as these accessories which were full of texture.
After looking at these patterns I decided to keep an eye out for other patterns and designs which interested me and found quite a few not only in clothing, but also in the architecture and store front designs in and around Oxford street.

I was particularly interested in the floral embroidery I saw in Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab and Temperly as i felt that these designs could be effectively recreated in the silicone pieces. It was interesting to notice the amount of cut out patterns and lace designs and I may look at the designs to see how they could be translated into silicone to create effective designs. Looking at these textures has definitely inspired me to do some more sketching.

In future I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any textures and designs which I feel could be reflected in and influential to my designs.
