IT Session- Web Design

Today I attended the first of two web design IT sessions taught by John Whalvin. John showed us how to create templates of our web pages in Photoshop before optimising the images ready to place on our webpages in Muse.
Optimising the images is important as when purchasing a domain name and hosting there are page size limits, so optimising the images enables us to keep high quality images at a lower size so that they don't take too long to load or cost too much to host. I am confident with Photoshop so this was not too challenging for me.
We then briefly touched on the beginnings of Adobe Muse which again seems like something I will pick up relatively quickly. I originally said in my proposal that I would be creating my website using a site builder such as Wix but I have now changed my mind and will definitely be using Muse as there is more freedom with design and I believe it will not be too challenging for me.
I look forward to the next session where we will be learning more about Muse and domains/hosting as uploading web sites and making them 'live' is slightly confusing to me as there are so many options for different packages and I don't want to find myself paying more money than I need to or getting a package which isn't right for me.
